Who we are and what we do
Aviva is one of the UK’s leading Insurance, Wealth and Retirement businesses, with 19.2 million customers in the UK, Ireland and Canada. Our purpose is to be: With you today for a better tomorrow.
In 2023 we paid £25.6 billion in claims, fulfilling our purpose to be with people in the crunch times when it really matters. We couldn’t do that without the thousands of suppliers we work with every day.
We’ve announced our plans to become a NET Zero company by 2040 and have a NET zero supply chain by 2030.
We are looking to work with organisations who have a shared ambition to reduce our environmental impact globally, and particularly those who have demonstrated this commitment through external benchmarks such as Science Based Targets. From 1st July 2022 we require our key suppliers to make their own public commitments to Net Zero targets by November 2023.

Procurement's purpose
Quality - We make sure goods or services are fit for purpose for our customer needs. Meet health and safety standards and comply with our brand and legal requirements
Controls - We carry out due dilligence and expect suppliers to meet our business standards and values, to protect our customers and prevent fraud, loss of data and brand damage.
Continuity - We expect the same high standards of services from our suppliers as our customers expect of us. We make sure suppliers provide services during core and non-core hours so we can support our customers when they need us.
Efficiency - We make sure our suppliers provide goods and services quickly and efficiently to ensure our customers get them when they need them.
